Innovative composite materials for the drag and electromagnetic signature reduction for applications in aviation

The current project aims in the development of a novel, multifunctional, hybrid composite material with thin layer films, for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) applications. The novel material will fulfill the objectives for: • Reduced weight combined with high resistance to mechanical loads and stresses • Reduced friction coefficient between the UAV external surfaces and the surrounding air • Reduced EM signature signal through an absorbing approach
